The Senior Director of Human Resources (SDHR) provides support and guidance to internal client groups and executives on people related matters impacting the business such as performance management, compensation, talent development, conflict resolution and general policies. The SDHR manages all functional groups of the HR department either directly or via the HR team, including; benefits & payroll, employee relations, compliance, recruiting and learning & development.

 

Reporting directly to the CFO, the SDHR is an integral and proactive member of the business and serves as a trusted advisor on all matters related to Human Capital with Ingenious Med employees and managers. The SDHR is expected to increase the level of HR partnership by ensuring that consistent support and accurate messages are being delivered, and to build effective relationships across the business ensuring stakeholders are kept informed of changes that impact their department. The SDHR is an employee champion and change agent.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management such as coaching, counselling, career development and disciplinary actions.
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Conduct thorough investigations when needed and making recommendations regarding issues of disputes or misconduct.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Work closely with business leaders to ensure rewards are aligned to performance and that ongoing feedback is provided.
  • Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the organization.
  • Works closely with Finance team to ensure metrics are relevant and accurate
  • Along with the CFO and other department heads develops, creates and executes bonus and commission plans company-wide
  • Recommend policy and practice changes based on internal trends and competitive benchmarking
  • Identify training needs for employees and management, and participate in evaluation of training effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures and workforce planning; deploying and advising on effective change management and communication strategies.
  • Partner with management to create and modify job descriptions.
  • Conduct exit interviews for assigned business units; analyze and report trends and provide tactical/strategic recommendations.
  • Assist in driving employee recognition and communication in designated groups
  • Develop department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Develop improvements for HR processes and procedures to scale with the business.
  • Play an active role facilitating and driving change throughout the organization.
  • Complete special projects as they arise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • A minimum of 10 years demonstrated successful experience supporting the human resources function within a mid-size technology organization
  • Thorough knowledge in Human Resource laws and regulations required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and ability to learn new systems/technology
  • Prior experience working in a high growth environment
  • Experience partnering with executives
  • PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
