    DevOps is focused on collaboration and efficiency.  The DevOps Engineer works closely with many teams within Ingenious Med.  This includes the deployment of our web applications, and the creation of infrastructure needed to support them.  It also includes performance and outage monitoring, managing issues to completion and improving overall quality.  It includes communicating with our support team to identify and resolve customer-affecting performance issues.  This role also collaborates with external vendors.  DevOps constantly strives to remove obstacles to our SDLC processes. 


    Build and Deploy

    • Maintain the Continuous Build/Continuous Deployment pipeline
    • Assist with code branch management and strategy
    • Maintain, test and deploy web application and services

    Environment Management

    • Experience managing multiple concurrent environments (dev, test, staging, production)
    • Ensure environment infrastructure is operating at maximum efficiency
    • Monitor web-based applications, platforms, systems or solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues
    • Stand up and manage environments for special initiatives or projects


    • Assist with the establishment and maintenance of a Continuous Build/Continuous Deployment pipeline
    • Implement Disaster Recovery (DR) processes and procedures
    • Maintain a test environment management process
    • Identify operations based requirements and utilize our Agile processes to channel this work to scrum teams.
    • Support development teams by monitoring and gathering production data in an effort to improve the system.


    Support, Troubleshooting, and Communication

    • Work alongside cloud providers to analyze, triage, and resolve incidents or service requests
    • Diagnose, isolate, and implement remedies for system failures caused by errors in software code
    • Communicate with resources involved in resolution to ensure incidents are resolved, requests are fulfilled, and the customer communication is complete
    • Assist product support team with tickets as necessary
    • Responsive after-hours, as well as planned after-hours work
    • Facilitate cross-team efforts pertinent to all of the above

    • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment strategies and technologies
    • Experience using and managing system monitoring technologies (i.e. New Relic, FogLight, Xymon, etc.)
    • Experience with various versions of Microsoft Windows Server
    • Experience with IIS setup and configuration
    • Ability to apply Lean methodologies to identify bottle necks and propose solutions to delays in our integration/deployment processes
    • Strong Windows scripting skills (e.g. Powershell) to automate repetitive tasks
    • Very strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
    • Effectively work within a team environment as well as independently
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions within established guidelines and policies
    • Ability to explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and fosters understanding



    ·         BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

    ·         5+ years of experience as in IT Operations, Software Development, Software Configuration Management, Application Support or related field

    ·         Experience with service frameworks like IT Service Management (ITSM), preferably ITIL certified

    ·         Experience with Agile Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

    ·         Experience with the following technologies: C#.NET, .NET Framework 2.0, XML, XSLT, Windows Forms Programming with C#.NET 2.0, MS IIS
